lots of highways and onramps/offramps

No.2020083 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
one thing i think about often is the trend of having minimal freeway onramp/offramps like in sacramento and san jose where they area every mile or so away, cuaseing massive congestion when everyone funnels towards them in the AM and overcrowded surface streets surrounding them. one thing i like about living in the center of oakland is that theres many freeway onramps/offramps criss crossing everywhere connecting all the neighborhoods so you dont have to take slow surface streets to hop from
one neighborhood to another. iirc philly had a bunch of mini expressways and highways that would zip you from one area to another as well. remove all these freeway shortcuts and the trips would become painfully slow and the onelane/two lane neighborhood roads would become obscenely overcrowded. thoughts?
