>>2034587American sucks but they’re pretty cheap and they go everywhere. They’re really just a jumped-up budget airline, I’d absolutely still pick them over a real budget carrier like Spirit though.
Delta is unironically good, I feel like they have (or at least had) kind of a bad reputation and I’m not sure why, never had a bad experience with them at all. Cheap seats are still nice and flight attendants have been good, decent airplane food too. Of the big 3 they’re my first choice when I can. They also have the best in-flight map thing I’ve seen, which is nice.
I remember United being pretty bad when I was a kid (and when it was still Continental) but I had to use them recently and it was actually a pleasant experience. I was in one of their new 737-MAX jets and it was comfy, good seats and the best in-flight TV monitor I’ve seen. Although I usually read on flights anyway. I suspect that newer United planes are really nice but the older ones still suck, lol.
The best airline I’ve flown overall is definitely Hawaiian though. I would even put them above SwissAir (although to be fair I last flew SwissAir like 10 years ago), which is really saying something. Good seats, good service, not too pricey, and maybe it was just my flight but the flight attendants were both notably friendly and remarkably attractive.
Shout out to JetBlue as well, not as great as they used to be but still nice. I used them for the first time in years recently and the plane still had the same old seat back TV screens I remember from being a kid. Maybe not the best sign for the airline but it was a little bit of comfy nostalgia for me. The seats themselves were old and not really as good as Delta but you do still get better legroom for the price. But they downgraded their service compared to years ago, not as good as the better competitors and they don’t give out the free blue potato chips anymore, just some lame normal crap like pretzels or whatever.
