You might be able to take a high speed rail to another city, but then you'll have to rent a car or pay for taxi fares or whatever to actually get to your destination.???? in any other country trains take you literally in the middle of the city
if you take a plane you have to use a rented car or a cab or public transport anyway from the airport to your destination
what's the alternative? drive for 7 hours? you can only do it safely because thousand of other people are taking trains or planes
