My real answer depends on the day: sometimes I just listen to the wind, other times I listen to music, sometimes I put earbuds in with nothing on just to block out noise rather than listen to wind noise for hours.

Here they are much closer and the head phones from flatter terrain is almost use less. I liked using the noise isolating ear covers with ear buds under them but the little head phones break on me often.

I put in earbuds and a light headband on top, covering the ears, This keeps the earbuds in and the wind out. This reduces noise a lot and also prevents headaches for me because wind in my ears gives me headaches.
