Aluminum does corrode just so much slower than steel that it's sometimes not considered a factor however different aluminum alloys have different corrosion attributes and some alloys don't have as strong corrosion resistance in certain galvanic situations

My Cube's frame, circa 2013, is anodized. It feels nice, it looks premium, and it's indeed super durable.
But consistent anodizing on such a large part is expensive and difficult, even mine has a few blemishes. They probably quit doing it because of the defect rate.
Also, carbon is all the rage now, and giving people an excuse to go with a cheaper aluminium model just for the cool finish is counterproductive to the business side of things. You will buy a carbon frame painted black and you will be happy about it.

Annodizing is super thin and wears off easily

The difference between anodizing and painting is that paint is on top of the part while anodizing is embedded into aluminium's oxide layer. So yes, anodizing is thin, no, it doesn't mean it wears off easily. You most likely have anodized parts on your bike, cranks in particular are commonly anodized and face a lot of rub action through their lifetime.

Long story short, im not looking to be bored with retard takes itt:
They don't because it offers relatively weak corrosion protection compared to. paint. You can get that by just painting clear over it as it's the etch primer that makes the paint a very durable solution that offers good protection.
Idk why but /n/ is just always very bad when it comes to material science and other engineering topics even when its just trivial knowledge.
