The other day I was standing on line getting a chop cheese at the bodega and this dude by the counter had a clapped out s-works track bike with a zipp service course stem and DT swiss deep dish rims and dura ace spd-sl pedals and some sort of schrader adapter caps on his presta cores and the bar tape looked like it had gone through ww3, I don't know exactly how that worked but it was pretty cool to see a high quality bike being ground to dust by someone who actually used it, good bikes should be ridden hard and frankensteined when they reach a certain age

the only trouble I've gotten from a presta has been related to sealant getting into the valve core and that's easily solved by unscrewing the core, putting a little piece of paper towel on a metal toothpick, and reaming out the rubber crap stuck inside the valve with the paper towel, if you're having issues unrelated to latex sealant there is something wrong with you and not presta

No they aren't, at least upto a point. Depending on the conditions there's a sweet spot which is quite thick for most conditions.
The problem is vibrations slow you down more than the lower rolling resistance from skinny tires.
A part of this is better materials and engineering decreased rolling resistance of thicker tires.
Ofc this only works upto a point and going all the way to fat tire bike diameters will slow you down again.

There’s literally no reason not to use a schrader valve
They’re available down to 23 and 25mm width tubes, and it’s is indisputable at this point that there’s no reason to go thinner, like the old 19s
And once you’re using tubeless tires like you should because we no longer live in the stone ages it’s even more obvious

tubeless is just trading one half-measure (tube) for another (sealant), and tubes are far lower maintenance, especially if you don't cycle the same bike all year. store your summer bike for the winter and come back to globs of sealant pooling on the bottom. and you grab that leftover sealant you had and it's also a solid glob in that bottle. fuck big sealant, keep your toobs.

this happened to me at first, the problem was (in my case) the tire bead was so goddamned tight that my normal tire levers were not effective unless they were gouging into the side of the tube. changing to Pedros levers worked for me, at least.

you cannot blow up a schrader tube like a balloon, and you cannot deflate them at will without searching around for a twig or a pen. also, if you don't use a valve cap, mud gets in there, rendering the valve useless.
these are pains in the ass when you're trying to change a flat. the superior valve just werks

not pro Schrader, let alone anti presta. But your arguments are pretty retarded and make almost zero sense.
I just wish they made good universal pumpheads. Most of my bikes are presta or regina but I need extra pumps for the other bikes and extra heads or adapters for the floor pumps.
Also you all just admit regina valves just mog. It's a shame you hardly find tubes with them anymore. I should start to consider vulcanizing them they're that good.
Look good. Always have your valve cap. Even the valve cap looks good. All the advantages of presta. Even better when it comes to security.
