Will this thing magically be able to go faster than the current acela trainsets on the same track because last I checked, the trains between NY and DC were basically the same speed whether acela or not, maybe a 10 minute difference, the only thing acela has as an advantage is that it keeps smelly students and backpackers and breedoids with their crotch spawn off the train, and that is a big advantage but they could also make an adults-only train that doesn't use a high speed locomotive and just charge more

I don't remember where but I read that the trains are just so much longer that they were able to increase the number of seats and still increase leg room

just checked, and the maximum speed between Washington and New York is 130 mph? reason for the slow speed is that the overhead wires are old and cannot support higher speeds, so even if new train are introduced, the travel time will not change.
