Meanwhile the idea of a packraft, IMO, is to have a raft that packs down, so you can take it backpacking and deploy it when you need or perhaps want to.
IMO there isn't many use cases for one. Most bodies of water in most places are just such that you can go around them or over by means of a bridge.
But I do see that in some places going around isn't always feasible.
Anyways, the point remains: Kinda weird to go packrafting instead of backpacking and taking a packraft along. Just go rafting.
