The denser the environment, the better these become but more than 7 mile distance a bike becomes better. There's some spaces that allow kick scooters and not bikes, that's where they're really nice, plus they fold so you don't have to worry about someone stealing your locked bike

I bought one while in the military so I'd get out of having to do paperwork on my vehicle every weekend, except mine was an electric gotrax scooter. I could drive around pretty good with 120+ pounds of gear on me and it got me around three miles before I had to start pushing but at that point I'd just put it in the back of my peer's car. Over-all, I'd say 6/10. It's convenient but the flaws will stand out.

on military bases it will always be ridiculous larper mall crawler pickups and SUVs but i have noticed more electric scooters/bikes. i'm surprised they don't encourage it more for "fitness" since even on the mid-range ebikes privates are buying just to get around before they can lease a dogshit i4 Charger you still have to pedal sometimes
