>>2066254dont quote me on it but orthodox jews seem to like bikes. i dont think it's religious or cultural, but probably an artefact of those communities usually being pretty physically small, but in less dense urban areas where biking isn't too horrendous. and from what i've seen they prefer smaller luxury cars so maybe the idea is that instead of taking the Jetta three blocks to get some hamastashen they just take the bike, same as they bought the Jetta instead of a RAV
but even on that i think it's more of a practicality thing, which is very prevalent throughout jewish communities. it's not a religious duty nor about typical 90s LOL SO CHEAP memery, there, the frumpy dress and attitude is reminiscent of the amish in actual genuine rugged practicality and feeling even if more is nice, mo features mo problems. but also people are still fundamentally lazy and would rather have a motorized vehicle at all, and if they are in North America, not having a motorized vehicle of any kind is seen as juvenile regardless of (sub)culture
