So I gave in and bought a used road bike - columbus tubing, 105mix and the whole shebang..
Firsly, the bars - getting used to it, but damn, do I miss A BAR to just hold on to. Main gripe is the first bend, counting from the stem. It is just too smooth. With all the reach I would have preferred a more abrupt one for more straight pre-hood area. Q1: are such bars available? Moreover, there's so much pressure on the base of the thumb when on the hoods(unless sprinting) Q2: what do, besides getting gloves?
Secondly, the tires - was really surprised 23mm doesn't even feel too skinny. The back is worn though and I'm not switching them for fear of surprise frontflips. Looking at Contis now. Cannot choose between 25mm and 28mm GrandPrix (non-4000), or maybe even 25mm Super Sport Plus. Q3: what get and do I combine different front and back? any other long-lasting, easy rolling tires under 25euros a pop?
Q4: are there any advantages to a wired bead over folding?
btw, according to this guy, the fatter ones roll faster:

>>97123322,2 it is, sorry I was posting drunk. The issue persists however - classy as the cinelly cockpit is, fuck that thing. 26,3mm clamp diameter is adding insult to injury
Q5: what solutions can you suggest besides an insertable adapter with shims to use a 1 1/8 a-head stem? Face plate is a must since I run downtube shifters and want to be able to slap bullhorn or flats on it quick
