>>979884I'm an Old Guy. I've been riding for decades, have owned a total of 7 motorcycles, and logged probably somewhere upwards of half a million miles total on them. I still have all my original body parts, all in good working order, and in fact working well enough to race bicycles with a local masters team.
Enough about me, and down to business.
Go visit a motorcycle recycling yard sometime. In the 'showroom', you'll always find fairly new motocycles, with large engines, for sale, all of which are 'fixer-uppers' with some repairable damage to them. Might even find a little dried blood on them. They were all owned by first-time riders who thought they could handle a little old 1000cc motorbike. They thought wrong -- which is what should be on their headstones. They chose poorly. Start with a small bike (2-cyl 250cc putt-putt), take the damn motorcycle safety course, and ride your putt-putt around for a year. If you don't fuck up (too badly, at least) and still like it, THEN go look for a bigger bike. Unless you want someone to get your fairly new, slightly damaged bike for a song from a motorcycle wrecking yard, that is.
Cheers. :-)
