I say this as someone who uses mech discs. I only got them because at the time there were no reasonably priced brifter disc systems. I mean you go out probably with what, 2 or 3 CO2 cartridges at best? You carrying a spare chain? A bunch of spare spokes? No? Then fuck off with your bizarro scenarios where a very specific and unlikely type of crash causes a very specific unlikely type of brake failure and somehow having one functioning brake will completely prevent you from getting home.
