B12 is found naturally in soil, and humans historically got their B12 from soil residue on vegetables. Due to modern intensive cleaning methods, soil residue is more adequately washed off than it was (basically anytime before the industrial revolution, I presume) and as a result, humans lack B12 if they don't take supplements. Fortunately, some vegan foods are fortified with B12 such as nutritional yeast and some plant-based milks.
tl;dr meat is not humans' natural source of B12, nor an adequate source of it
Literally every necessary nutrient/vitamin is available from vegan sources. Hence why vegans are (usually) so healthy.
