And there's nothing wrong with flat bar hybrids, some of them are really good bikes. However, you won't go as fast as on a cx/gravel bike, and you also won't have as many hand positions unless you install add-ons such as bar ends.
But if you really ride 1-3 hours per day, I would suggest saving up more money, spending about $1500 on a new bike.
