This is simply not correct.
This bike was way ahead of its time and had top tier compontents .
It was three times what a normal mountain bike cost at the time.
These bikes are still top performers even now.

I bet some have minor value if they are the right model and in good condition. but the average alien I see in the city is just a beater bike. Pic related is the coolest model I've seen. Most are unicrown or shock forked

>Richard Cunningham designed some bikes for Nishiki using the elevated chain-stays that bolted to a rectangular aluminum main frame. This was a mass-produced version of his custom Mantis bikes. The Aliens really put Nishiki and the map for a couple of years but they faded somewhat when the elevated stays became less fashionable. I think just about everyone who was cycling at the time remembers when these bikes came out.
