I was just pointing out there was a gap between the French who built the statue of liberty and the jewish woman who put the poem at the base.
The principal designer and sculptor of the Statue of Liberty was French artist Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi. He designed "Liberty Enlightening the World" starting in 1870, with the metal framework later engineered by Gustave Eiffel, of the Eiffel tower. He did not have the same politics or beliefs as Emma Lazarus.
