You're asking a very broad question. It depends on who you ask and the context. Generally, they're just a conservative activism group with an emphasis on street level activity - meaning rallying, protesting, physical gatherings etc., They seem to prioritize general boiler plate conservative positions like traditionalism, pseudo-nationalism, individualism, anti-government interventionism both domestic and abroad. As far as what they want, its hard to say. Its like asking what BLM wants. It depends on who you ask and what their level of involvement is. From what I've seen there are some proud boys who just enjoy the camaraderie and being around like minded people and others like the leaders and more notorious figures have more extreme political positions. It would be dishonest to pretend like they're some kind of monolith. What seems to be the case is that anybody who attends these big counter protests knows and understands that violence is a real possibility. A lot of them seem to just be willing and eager participants in street violence but that isn't unique to the Proud Boys. You can say the same from any other street activism group like ANTIFA. Either way, even if the Proud Boys don't explicitly advertise their more white nationalist ties the vast majority of the members don't find the idea offensive enough to not want to be associated with it. How much culpability you'd assign someone for association isn't a hill I'd die on but it sure does help one induct a certain conclusion.
