by your logic, no gun can be commonly owned or at least no long gun can be. There have been 20 millions ARs sold from like 2004 to 2020. Other popular long guns like the winchester 1894 only sold 7 million, mossberg 500 is only 10 million and remington 700 is only at 5 million.
by your logic, no rifle or shotgun can be "commonly owned" also no car can be commonly owned.
