Aid deliveries to Gaza were halted on Friday due to fuel shortages and a communications outage in the Palestinian enclave, United Nations officials said, while issuing dire warnings of people possibly facing starvation.
In its daily update, the UN’s Humanitarian Affairs Office (OCHA) said the aid supply from the Rafah border crossing with Egypt stands halted as it is “impossible to manage humanitarian aid convoys” while facing a communication outage and fuel shortages
The update noted that no trucks were able to enter the Gaza Strip on Thursday, due to a lack of fuel.
All telecom services in Gaza were shut on Thursday evening.
The UN’s World Food Program warned Gazans are facing starvation, as the enclave is receiving only 10% of the food supply it needs.
