Verastem Oncology has begun the rolling submission process for a New Drug Application (NDA) to the FDA for accelerated approval of avutometinib and defactinib combined treatment. The combination aims to treat patients with recurrent LGSOC. Verastem plans to submit the nonclinical and quality sections first, followed by the clinical module in Q3 2024. The FDA has granted the combination Breakthrough Therapy Designation (BTD) and Orphan Drug Designation (ODD) for certain LGSOC indications. Verastem intends to request a priority review for the NDA, as there are currently no FDA-approved treatments for recurrent LGSOC.
