Trump rushed off stage at Pennsylvania rally after apparent shooting
Secret Service agents immediately rushed to defend Trump, calling out for him to get on the ground.
Former President Donald Trump was rushed off the stage at a rally Saturday evening in Butler, Pennsylvania, after apparent gunshots rang out.
Screams could be heard from the crowd, which ducked and tried to take cover.
The Secret Service confirmed “an incident” happened during the rally and that Trump “is safe,” a spokesperson said in a post on X. Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump, said the former president was being examined nearby.
“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act,” Cheung said. “He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility.”
It was not clear what happened. Pops rang out before Trump put his hand to his right ear. Secret Service agents immediately rushed to defend Trump, calling out for him to get on the ground. He remained down for about a minute, surrounded by agents. When he stood back up later, supported by agents, he appeared injured and blood was on his face.

“All the sudden shots started to crack, someone behind me appears to have been shot. There’s lots of blood, and the Secret Service were all over President Trump.
McCormick said he was unsure of how badly the person behind him was injured.
