Vladimir Putin Signed Another Law: Here is What It is about

Russian president Vladimir Putin signed the Law on Prohibition of Distributing Propaganda Opposing Traditional Family Values within the country.

According to this law, people and organisations that promote childless families, non-traditional relationships and sex changes will be identified and fined.

People who aren't officials will be fined up to 100k rubles (cca. €930), officials up to 200k rubles (cca. €1,860), and legal people up to 800k rubles (cca. €7,460).

If such propaganda is distributed via social networks, a fine of up to 5 mil. rubles (cca. €46,600) will be issued, otherwise the activities of that institution will be suspended for up to 90 days.

Putin also signed a law that forbids citizens of countries in which sex change is allowed from adopting Russian children.

These laws aim to protect traditional family values and increase the number of children in Russia, the authorities say, Anadolu Agency reports.
