FUCK HIRO FOR CHANGING THE CODE!!!!
the way 4chan USED TO WORK was that if you tried to make a post that exceeded the character limit, you could hit the "back" button in the browser and it would give you your post back, so you could edit it down. But NNOOOOOOOOO for some dumb fucking reason the idiots in charge of 4chan changed that so now you lose the entire post and have to start over if you go over the character limit. Nevermind that any competent website would show the character limit even for a copy/paste post (4chan only shows the character limit if you type it manually)
