The incident began around 3:45 p.m. when several calls were made reporting motorbikes and dirt bikes riding westbound on the 60 Freeway near Rosemead Boulevard in the South El Monte area.
Less than 10 minutes later, CHP officers located the motorcycles and initiated a traffic stop but two riders failed to yield and a pursuit began, the California Highway Patrol stated.
