I know it will be an entire AI infrastructure starting as a data center in Texas as well as other states but I'm curious on what it would accomplish or even be down the road

It's about control over vast natural gas resources, enough that Ukraine could end Russia's energy hegemony in Europe and by extension end Russia's leverage as well. Russia's eggs are entirely in the energy basket, and losing Europe would be catastrophic. Russia invaded in order to keep that from happening as well as leave a "glorious legacy" for putin and prevent Ukraine from joining NATO which would close the door forever on Russia taking those lands from Ukraine.

In 2023 after openai released chatgpt, Biden signed an executive order restricting AI and requiring businesses do things like ensuring it has equitable output, which among other things led to the debacle of Gemini having an ai image generator that only produced images of black people. Trump repealed this luddite executive order and got together leaders of AI and once again got a massive AI r&d project underway

Nvidia right now basically has a monopoly on high performance chips, Lovelace has something like 10x the performance of hopper, and nobody even comes close. Nobody even has a software framework anywhere close to what CUDA provides. and nobody is happy about paying the premium Nvidia is charging for this monopoly. There is going to be a lot of financial incentive for foxconn to get their shit together and start making similar chips for more than just Nvidia. Or, Nvidia keeps their innovation monopoly, at which point foxconn is still going to be heavily financially incentivized to increase production given this announcement

Lol you are uneducated in the matter apparently. There are backlogs on orders for hopper architecture right now over a year long, and Blackwell will be even worse.
This sort of thing did not happen to data center GPUs until 2023. Any backlogs were for gaming GPUs because scalpers bought them up to resell them at a premium, which is still happening, but now legitimate cloud providers have a massive GPU shortage of data center ai GPUs.
