I find what's happening there very sad... There are no human rights and a horrendous "president." You can't call someone president if they don't show proof of how they won.
For me, the candidate who really won (Edmundo González Urrutia with María Corina Machado)
were the real winners of this election. 10 months and 4 days have passed since the lives of Venezuelans were destroyed once again.
As a Venezuelan, I curse all those old-timers who thought the left/communism would be a good option when there was a truly stable country. Damn them.
My main goal with these posts as the days go by is to attract more people to take an interest in this important but not relevant topic in the world. The truth is, I wish my family was close by. I currently live in Portugal, and my life here has been complicated, far from my family, my parents, my grandmother, and my grandfather, who practically died because the ambulance took forever to arrive. Although I don't blame them, the country is a fucking mess, and I would love for people to try to help in a positive way.
The first few months after the election was stolen were months of uncertainty, with countries worried, people saying they would help take back the country, and so on. Afterwards? Absolutely nothing happened. They imprisoned more than 2,500 politicians so that a coup d'état wouldn't destroy the country and overthrow communism.
The armed forces took to the streets to instill fear in citizens. In the capital city, they placed signs under doors saying "Don't go out," referring to the protesters released from prison on January 10th. Prisoners released by communism were sent to instill fear and intimidation in the people. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what happened from July 28th to January 10th. And from January 10th to May 2nd, 2025. We need help.
