Hamas objective is to fight Israel. Hamas method or tactic for that end is to make Palestinians suffer. Palestinians suffer, the intl community gets angry at Israel, more "donations" to Hamas. Rinse and repeat.
Hamas doesn't care for the well being of their population. In fact they rejoice (and its economic supporters also) at Palestinians suffering. That's how they can fight Israel.
Hamas did the October attack. Hamas knew what was the consequence of that. Its objective: Palestinians being massacred. So they went all in, and they got what they were hoping.
Cletus voted Trump who fucked him and others who didn't vote for Trump. Cletus didn't learn, voted again for Trump who fucked him and others who didn't vote for Trump.
Gazans chose and supported Hamas. Many even cheered when the rockets flew. Now they got their comeuppance.
Israel can't negotiate with a party who says its objective is elimination of Israel. Can't bribe them. Can't even isolate them. I knew from the beginning they were going full Modi with bulldozers and it was going to be a bloodbath.

And 2 last things. This time Israel is not going to occupy but annex the whole thing. And if you've ever met a Palestinian from either the West Bank or Gaza through the world after going to damn good colleges in Europe and the US you start wondering how can an impoverished and starved population under siege manage to pull that one up. Well, when sponsors throw money for the cause as if it was the Fed and helicopter money, one thing's for sure. Corruption. And then you get a caste system of those recipient of the money and those who're pretty much human shields or suffering dolls for the delight of crazies.
