The real question everyone is ignoring but that should be at the forefront isn't whether the assassin was right wing or left wing. It's that clearly he was unstable and deeply entrenched in meme culture that promotes radical rhetoric from all sides. So the question being: do you want to live in a society where an unstable meme-tard of whatever ideology should have free and easy access to guns.
If the answer is no, then that's where real gun reform has to start being talked about from both sides. If your answer is yes then there's nothing bad here. Someone who is as divisive as Kirk and called for the sorts of things he did, especially free access to guns should expect this is a possibility.
