>>742419Almost nadda, and a few million, if you count the whole period between 1990 and the ouster, more if you count the fallout throughout the region, that required, and will continue to require, more intervention, nevermind all the trauma cased in America by all the returning troops, with this either at the back or fore of their minds, which is tragic enough to mention, even it pales in comparison.
If America had told the truth to its media, it still would have happened. The continued hegemony of America, and the west in general, is apparently more important than a few million lives. Regardless of political mottos suggesting otherwise, it has always been, "America First", and always will be.
Granted, had we been honest that first time around, while it no doubt would have cost Bush Sr. the presidency, possibly even sooner than the two wars he was dragged into (because, Noriega had to go for reasons other than stated as well), the sanctions wouldn't have been necessary, and maybe the 2003 war could have been avoided. As Saddam was a Putin type, too paranoid to groom a proper successor, Iraq still would have eventually had a civil war, possibly a much bloodier one, but the blood wouldn't be on our hands.
And yes, I remember the headlines from the mainstream at the time, they were 70% in one direction 30% in the other, as described in the previous post. People were divided against one another accordingly, which was more than enough approval to go through with it.
But if you think the conspiracy videos on Youtube and Infowars and the like aren't driven by the same forces that drive the "mainstream" media, only with far less accountability....
