It is difficult to understand. Even a self-serving, power hungry, scumbag like Cruz who ignores his constituents' well being to kneel before any lobbyist who offers him a bucket full of cash, should still have some kind of visceral disgust and hatred for Trump after the unwarranted, baseless attacks he lobbed at not only him, but his family.

My only explanation, which has been confirmed by the Republicans like Cruz's response to a pandemic that killed 3000+ again today, adding to the 360,000 total, is that they lack any capacity to feel human emotions other than self interest and greed.
