Seriously, what the fuck? Looked like the judge was going to straight skull rape him for this. Fucker tried to tell the jury Kyle was guilty for not speaking after the incident, before his trial, as is his fucking 5th amendment right as was affirmed in Miranda v. Arizona. There's a few things in here that seem to be communicated somewhat incorrectly, or maybe I'm just not remembering it correctly from when I watched the trial, I was working at the same time so maybe I missed a few parts..
But overall the article is very well written and neutral and presents it very factually without any sort of smearing, weasel words, or suggestive wording.

Overall it's a pretty good recap of what I witnessed today during the live stream

I mean don't get me wrong, the judge look so old he could have been a boomer before boomers were a thing... At one point earlier this week he cited case law from 1979 or something that the prosecution had to inform him had been updated or changed or something.

Tom Binger is a joke.
He doesn't seem like he's attempting to present facts at all, he doesn't seem like he's attempting to get to the truth of the matter.
He seems like he's persecuting Kyle for political reasons, and I mean the dude's been admonished like what six times by the judge now for constitutional, procedural and legal violations?
I've been listening to some analysts talk about this, and the dude's been in the game long enough he knows full well what he's doing, a bunch of people are thinking he's trying to get a mistrial right now purposefully because he knows it's been bungled so much already..
Even the judge and the defense seemed to accuse him of that, they just didn't say it outright they applied it

He wasn't at the Dealership he said he went to defend either, something made clear from the get go with how many people who were accounted for on said day were there and neither saw nor met him.
A lot of the people regarding this bring up how he was supposedly ordered by someone to put out a burning car, but that person seems to not exist.

Only one that's in doubt is the public endangerment charge. That looks like it could go either way.

Everything about what you just said is false.
The prosecutor started out questioning him about medical aid he had rendered for others, and got into a discussion with Kyle about people who had hurt their shoulders and cut their fingers that tile was providing bandages and gauze for.

And even if that discussion hadn't happened the trial has already established he showed up with a "pelican box" full of medical supplies, and a reporter from some news outlet was already shown on video walking around with Kyle as he was asking people if they needed aid, and at least one person was recorded getting medical aid from Kyle by this reporter

I suggest you start searching for "daily caller reporter following Kyle Rittenhouse" or something like that and maybe you can watch the video.
But the reporter recorded somebody coming up to Kyle and wanting medical aid for his shoulder.

Regarding the medical supplies, at least in this video he was wearing a yellow medical pack that he wears around wil life guarding that he pulled his medical supplies from

He didn't carry any compression wraps. All he had was gauze and bandaids. No disinfectants nor basic OTC dressings.
In BLS training they tell you exactly what you need to carry on your person when you're on the job (Peroxide/Alcohol, Neosporin/OTC Antibiotics, Ibuprofen/Aspirins, Gauze, Bandaids, compression wraps, etc.)
He only had 2 of those so far confirmed and nothing else.
Either he didn't pay attention in his BLS training for his Life Guard job or he was legit larping.

Any time theres an imbalance of power in a confrontation doesn't need to be a weapon... if the victim (non-aggressor, running away, disengaging, de-escalating) feels their in danger of death or great bodily harm they're authorized to use lethal force. In this case with an convicted felon adult with an obvious strength and experience disparity running down a weaker non-aggressor this was a clear case of authorized used of force. Except if you put yourself in a position to force a confrontation. This is no longer self defense. Which is the very arguement and the thing the prosecutor got yelled at for alluding to. Rittenhouse said on video the week before the murder that he wanted to go murder protestors.

If that had been allowed in court it would prove his pre meditation to force a confrontation with protestors in order to justify murder.

Which I understand the crooked judge did not allow, fine, in court the jury can not consider that.

Still doesn’t change that fact that his actions indicate he hoped for this very outcome and put himself in the position to kill.

If he is found innocent we will see a major increase in tourism vigilantism. It's not even the judges choice in the matter, there's literal court rulings decided by judges other than him that he is cited as president numerous times regarding this issue.
These people want to believe he just made up some rule and pulled it out of his Boomer ass, but as somebody who's watched all days of the trial so far, the judge hasn't come up with a single rule on his own, he cited every rule from some legal textbook, and literally his only job has been to just decide if objection should be sustained or not.

I don't know anything about Kyle's character overall, I didn't even care about this trial when it started but after I've been watching it I really feel like what we are watching is an attempt of the state at politically persecuting someone

There was somebody about a block away with an amateur drone like one of the ones you can buy off Amazon, he had just lifted it off, like seriously it was in his hand it takes off and when it's gaining altitude there is a little blur in the bottom left corner that you can't make out, and this image is the result of them trying to enhance that blur that couldn't be made out

I don't think it comes down to as simple as what your suggesting though, many on the right have also read stories about this which have suggested Kyle was a white supremacist of some sort their to shoot peaceful protesters at a rally.
I'm sure this has driven some of the polarization of discourse, because too many on the right this has exactly zero to do with racism or white supremacy, this is too many people in issue about the right to self-defense, that in many cases, has been twisted into some sort of racism related issue by leftist journalism looking for clicks

We had footage of the event in less than an hour. It was already a clear case of self-defense. For as much as you might hate /pol/, they did a quick and amazing job of breaking down and presenting all the facts in less than a day. The image itself was digitally "enhanced" by a forensic employee
The zooming thing came when the prosecutor during court wanted to further zoom the image because you still couldn't tell what the hell was going on in it, and it happened to be on an Apple iPad
So anyways what the defense objected to was the further modification of the image by using Apple's pinch to zoom feature when a forensic employee had already performed whatever enhancement was supposed to have been done

True, but my issue is more with the intense left/right paradigm that all of these issues get framed in. Culture war issues have become a zero sum game - all in or all out with no room in the middle for any kind of meaningful analysis. To the right, every single incident is self-defense and if the victim is black or left-leaning its always 100% their fault. To the left, every single incident is a white supremacist execution and if the perpetrator is white its always 100% their fault. Oh yeah I watch this. The kids running away from someone chasing after him, is running out of room maybe like 25 ft or 30 ft from a bunch of cars and crowd and he turns around and sees his attacker still coming after him points his gun at his attacker and then still tries to run off again makes it maybe five or six steps can't run anywhere and when he turns around the attackers on top of him trying to wrest control of his weapon from him, which is when he shoots.

This is what gets me, is I absolutely see this no matter which way I look at it as clear-cut self-defense..

That being said I don't know what Wisconsin laws are and I don't know the specific lesser charges that the da decided to tack on top of everything yesterday, but almost nobody is looking at this as an intentional homicide anymore now that the entire world's actually had a chance to see the facts

They didn't. There was a lot left to be discovered about exactly what happened before and after and, of course, all of the physical evidence that hadn't even been collected yet. /pol/ had made up their mind about who was innocent and guilty immediately - the same way reddit and lefty Twitter did. Pretending like this was a very cleary, very cut and dry case that could be decided on hours after the shooting is an example of the logic blind partisanship I'm talking about. The issue is that both sides complain so heavily about the court of public opinion "cancelling" people before all of the facts come together but both sides participate in it so insanely heavily whenever it benefits them.

The only thing they didn't have at the end of it all was the FBI spy plane and the drone footage, but otherwise they got enough videos to show exactly what happened during each shooting - the same videos that have been played in court 10,000 times were reposted over and over on 4chan that same day of the shooting.

As of this point in the trial is seems as though he'll most like be acquitted. I'm actually somewhat skeptical about this claim. I thought that until Friday when the state added something like nine additional lesser charges, as they are pretty certain what they originally charged him with won't result in any convictions.

My honest opinion is that it's not society itself that is the root cause of all this problem, society acting this way is a side effect of the galvanization of news reporting.
There are truly very little unbiased sources, but they are there.
Many outlets have chosen to report this in the format of "the other" and continue to do so despite the facts being released.
I have seen several local outlets report quite factually and just summarize Court proceedings.

But society isn't acting the way it is on its own. It's being spurred by mass media conglomerates on both sides of the aisle that care more about clicks and profits than they do facts.

People aren't inherently biased, they learn their biases from what they learn, and in the scope of national or societal issues they learn most often from what mass media conglomerates tell them is happening.
Social media is detracting from this, but as the person you are arguing with about getting their facts within an hour from /Pol/, that person is quite literally arguing getting their facts from distributed sources rather than from media conglomerates, which you admonished

I hard disagree. I think that we are a reflection of the news and the news is a reflection. The news gives us these things because that's what we want - that's what we click on. We all have access to CSPAN where they spend hours going over tax code and policy in excruciating details. We all have access to lectures and debates and philosophy and science and all varieties of data but we don't consume that media. We consume blood and violence and culture war. That's what we click on. That's what we buy. We could all turn it off if we wanted to but we don't. I wouldn't say that there's no merit to what you're saying but if we look at it from a solution based perspective I think its fairly obvious that society wouldn't magically heal if the media chose to behave differently. The media feeds us garbage because that's what we're addicted to - this board is a perfect example.

Please re-read my post. You're arguing against a claim I never made. I made the exact opposite, actually. It looks as though he acted in self-defense to me, personally. That doesn't subtract from the fact that I refuse to make these claims until I have all of the information - unlike you, who is arguing for the practice of
convicting and accusing people in the court of public opinion based on whatever evidence you scrounged off of the internet. I, on the other hand, am arguing for the practice of not convicting or acquitting people in the court of public opinion. I prefer the logical, non-dogmatic route of waiting until all the evidence has been presented in court and letting the legal system do its job instead of thinking that watching internet videos makes me more informed than actual investigators.

The issue is that the defense is retarded, the judge is old, and prosecution are lying scumbags.The state's own witness confirmed that there were problems with the image, but the prosecutor still got his way because the judge doesn't know what a pixel is. The jury is going to be allowed to consider a lesser degree on some of the charges, such as second degree intentional homicide which has a mandatory minimum of 10 years.
In almost all self defense cases the defendant gets convicted on the lesser charge. This is because when the Jury debates it's easier to get the side that wants to find him guilty or the side that wants to find him innocent to both agree on the lesser charge so they feel they partially got their way, rather than moving both sides to either a guilty or innocent verdict.

In addition, the jury is completely tainted. The media, especially in WI has been releasing non stop propaganda about the case to destroy Kyle's image. The jury has already received multiple threats and is aware of the fears that an acquittal could result in a riot and put them in jeopardy.

The judge seems to be media aware as he has already criticized them for their reporting on this case. The media and left is working overtime to paint the judge as biased in Kyle's favor, to the point where he's now gotten threats. This is to pressure him to get Kyle on something as now Kyle being acquitted would make him look biased and give them the go ahead to call him corrupt/activist judge/white supremacist/racist etc.

He seems to be responding to this pressure. He gave the prosecution help by allowing the provocation jury instructions in on the flimsiest of evidence. Now the prosecution can argue (based on no evidence) that Kyle aimed his gun at Ziminski and that Rosenbaum was defending him. No, EMT's are only allowed to administer a handful of drugs. I'm sure some over the counter antibiotic cream is fine, but they can't push drugs. Paramedics can, but I don't know what antibiotics are available for them. EMS is really just about stabilizing the patient and getting them to the hospital as quickly as possible.

Antibiotics aren't a cleaning step. They're for preventing infections after the wound is cleaned. Usually the ER/clinics will wash out the wound, also washing off any ointments or creams in the process.

Also, no such thing as a "minor in possession of a firearm" law in most of the country, unless it is stolen firearm. In Wisconson, Kyle was totally legal and legit.
