most people end up buying a ton of shit they will rarely if ever use. total waste of money and CONSOOM culture. everyone has done it, be it too many fishing lures, too many camp tools, etc. the most valuable things besides water is simply knowledge. spend the money/time on learning about plants and animals. all these tools are fror glamping. you need food,w ater, and warmth from cold if you live somewhere with harsh winters. that's literally it. you don't see animals setting up camp and breaking out the cookware or tools. you will know if you really want a piece of gear once you've been /out/ without it many many times and wish you had it. buying it from the start is a recipe for wasted money.
