I thought about getting an actual rear sight installed but then I'd have to do something about the tang sight, because you can't shoot it when it's folded backward, otherwise it'd tear your cheek open.
>How much are those trap doors running these days?The one I've got is an old one from the 70s, it's a Harrington & Richardson (Italian made, American assembled). Got it used on GunBroker for ~$700 before shipping/taxes. I think this is probably the lowest end you can get for Trapdoor reproductions. Cimarron and Taylor and Co. both make their own but they run around $1500 for a full sized one new. They aren't that much cheaper used. I'm happy with it even with the sight issue, it shoots perfect windage wise, by the looks of the bore it looked like it might not ever have been fired, if not sparsely.
