what strange / spooky stuff have you seen? once when i was in the desert, there was a telephone pole, on it looked exactly like a 10ft tall bird of prey, just eyeing me down it was about a good 5min of walking, which felt like forever, just to see that it was a transformer that looked weird, none of the other poles had it either sounds dumb, but it really did look exactly like a gigantic human sized hawk, and the "head" even seemed to follow you too, really interesting illusion, since it also hit all the primal parts of the brain that gone "you're about to be fucking eaten by a bird!!!!!!" a year or two later, when i was gonna take a picture, it was gone, which adds a strange air to "it was right there, i tell you!">inb4 go to /x/ for this shit i want real stories, not >i smelled the rotten shit fart gas, and my best friend was turned into a skinwalker, and then i pulled out that gun from videogame and blasted it, dude trust me

You lost a night of outdoors but stayed alive.
Suppose you'd have been killed or worse...what would have been your last thought?
Something like : "I knew whe soudl've bolted.".
So don't blame yourself, you will have more chances to go out.

A weird one from my family.>be my Aunt Mary in late 70s > Have best friend, Peter, a closeted gay man >one day Peter invites aunt Mary on a hike >uuhh ok. >he's acting kinda weird on drive over/hike >after a while, he asks to take a break and sit on a rock overlooking a hill. >tells her that he has a confession. >IMGAY.jpg >it was pretty obvious from the get-go so Aunt Mary isnt surprised >starts telling him how she knew and loves him for who he is >emotional fag shit >Peter turns white while she's talking >Cuts Mary off >tells her to calmly stand up and make her way back to the car >wtf, come again? >tells her again to get up and walk to the car. And to not turn around. >ofc the first thing aunt Mary does is turn around, the dumb bitch (we love her, folks) >a short creature sits maybe 10 yards away from them on a another rock, watching them This is how she described what she saw in her own words>~4ft tall, gargoyle-esque features with large red eyes. >WTF >nope back to car >doesn't seem to follow, they drive home Mary tells this story to me and my sisters as we grow up. it creeps us tf out>ffw to 2013 >be my sister going to college >make some /out/ friends since she's into hiking/climbing whatnot >one night, friends are sharing innawoods stories. >one of her friends tells a story of being on a hike >describes seeing a short creature watching her >describes the exact same thing Aunt Mary had seen down to the gargoyle looking face and red eyes. >turns out its the exact same forest that Mary had been in those 40 odd years ago with gay peter These are both second hand stories, mind you, so I unfortunately do not remember where they actually saw the thing. If there's interest or anyone had similar experiences, I could reach out to one of them and ask for location. We're Jersey based so maybe the barrens but I cant say for sure.

Thinking back it affected the vibe of the whole time we spent in Canada, even though afterwards she was all chill

Sensing the genuine shock in her is the closest thing I've had to a supernatural experience. I'm convinced it's something that could happen again if I just spent more time out, like seeing a shooting star or a rescue helicopter
As for how she described it, she said ''It was like a guy with a low voice, like it was you(me) doing it(doing a voice)'' and ''it was English just without making any sense, like I was about to say 'what'(she always makes me repeat myself when I mumble)

We build scary shit in the woods to discourage crack heads leaving town. Obvious ones areusing iron fence wire to string together animal bones up trees where nobody can get them down, putting standing stones on outcrops, we weave giant symbols from branches and just pitch them into trees to ruin any kind of scenic outcrop stupid tourists might take photos from. The three meter hazel swastika made the news for being in so many tourists photos before they realised. Fuck tourists. Hammering railway spikes to make runs up cliffs and using old girder rivets to make climbs up huge trees. We fire catapults from up there at gays who try to use the woods for gay sex, even the guys who are themselves gay do it, because the men who have sex in the woods are mostly married, prostitutes, junkies, we just don't like em. Someone bought these plastic whistle things that make a scary noise and put them on fence posts on farms ridges so they all blow at once. And because the noise comes from a visibly empty field it spooks people into not camping by the roadsides in vans. Idk, people do all kinds of shit out there, and it's kind of a rule that you never own up to building shit, so over time who did what just becomes more confused.
