>>2503889Everyone has mentioned everything so far, but I'll add a shitload of cheap bungee cords for strapping things down and a set of spare scupper plugs (the rubber grommets that you pull out for drainage). They dry out over time and can get loose, especially if you get the kind of kayak cart that sticks up through the plug holes. There's nothing worse than having one pop out and float off when you're in the middle of nowhere. You won't sink, but you'll get a wet ass and feel miserable for the rest of the trip. They're only about $15 a dozen and you can just stash them inside the boat
>>2507498Nah man. I've been floating down the same stretch of river for years and it never gets old. Everything changes with seasons and weather and the time of day or night. Also going to new bodies of water isn't a chore, like sometimes you visit a place for other reasons or pull off the road somewhere and think "fuck, I need to bring my kayak here" and you get all excited and start planning things for the weekend. Also: friends/mates/girls have a blast. I have two kayaks and just take people out and have a blast
>>2507621Hell yeah man. I've been wanting one for a while but the river I live next to is an average of ~3 feet deep the whole way, like alpine trout fishing territory where a propeller would get wrecked within minutes because I'm too distracted by scenery to lift the thing before I bottom out
