>>1198113Detroit isn't what it was even a year ago. Hipsters are showing up and the city is starting to work on their abandoned areas. I have no idea how they're doing it, cause they still don't have any money but they are. The recent thing I've seen is painting windows black. This pic can't be taken now due to that. There's a hospital right on the highway that used to be completely abandoned and full of interesting shit and now it's almost completely been cleared out.
That being said, it still has by far the most abandoned stuff of any city in the country, and yes there are dangerous places but it mostly depends on time of day and how stupid you are. I've only ever seen other urbexers in places I've been and the only time I was ever really worried was in a neighborhood rather than a factory. Sadly, urbex is dying now that it has become popular. People act like fucking idiots and cities are beginning to take notice. My urbex goto is to dress like the most REI oregonian I can in bright colors with clearly visible camera gear and then play dumb when cops show up. Knock on wood, but It's worked every time so far. Best one was at Indiana State Hospital (it's mostly gone now) when a cop showed up and told me to watch out after dark cause I'm too white to be here.
Anyway, I have half a terabyte of midwest urbex pics.
