Hello, I came by this old lafuma backpack and was thinking of using it for some long hikes and extended camps in the wilderness. I like the idea of being able to easily lash on bulky loads; while hiking to camp lots of food could be hauled, around camp it could serve to bring wood, water, rocks and dead animals.
From what I've seen it's also fairly light as these packs go: 1,35kg.
My main doubt is the hip strap: the one present is just some 20mm webbing with a tensioner..
My main two options are: a. make one from scrath
b. fit the belt from my quechua 70l pack to the frame
I think making one would be better and more comfortable, the quechua relies on a v frame sliding in the back pouch wich is not on my frame, also the quechua is very heavy at 0,585kg.
So would any of you care to share any ideas or even better some pictures of their so-like packs to be able to get an idea?
