Got a bunch of ramps from a local guy who normally doesn't even sell them - he just liked that I plan to start a new population in my relatives forest and create a protected patch that unscrupulous foragers can't get at.
Some of them are a little droopy but the leaves and stems are quite firm. I've given them some organic compost and a good watering and they should be good to go for transplanting. My relatives have literally thousands of trilliums growing in their forest, and I've heard that is a good indicator.
Next project: American ginseng, then american ginger, then goldenseal.
