I like to use a bic/zippo as a way to make fire quickly but a ferro rod, especially a thick one, will give you a lot more uses, so its good to have one as a backup and to use it when you’re not in a hurry to start a fire just to get good with it. The ultimate awoken form of fire-starting is, however, the hand drill. The hand drill is fucking difficult though.
