>>1218168Yeah that sounds like batty to me for sure. I'm not sure what I was going for, there were always a lot of bats flying low over the hay going after bugs. Guess I was hoping they'd flutter around the recorder and there'd be enough squeaking, insects buzzing, and wings flapping to be interesting. You never know if you don't try, but yeah didn't really work out that day.
Also a friend of mine who's done some recording of bats in South American caves warned me that the Jecklin disk will likely sound like a predator to them and they'll stay away from it. Which makes sense. Maybe when I'm back in New England sometime I'll try again. The flying foxes here in Aus are really interesting sounding, especially when they're climbing around in the trees at night, but it'll be a tough one to plan for.
