>>2612975>trip report, awakeThe trip can have some similarities to being drunk due to the GABA-ergic effects of muscimol but the similar effects are mostly limited to decreased motor control. The psychoactive effects of ibotenic acid are distinct from just muscimol but the added effects are hard to pin down other than general stimulation offsetting the sedation of the muscimol. The trip bears absolutely zero similarity to a psilocybin or psychedelic trip.
So then, around 40 minutes (around 10 p.m.) after drinking my brew, I started to notice things felt slower. I believe I was watching music videos at the time and didn't feel any increased enjoyment from the music like you get with weed or psychedelics; music wasn't that interesting. Thirty minutes later, I got up to piss and the decreased motor control was very obvious. My limbs were heavy and it took more effort to convince them to move. I was spatially disoriented but not really dizzy.
Once I made it upstairs and to the toilet, I could tell that my sense of vision was slowing down, as if I was perceiving the world in a staccato fashion or at 10 FPS. I made it back downstairs with the same increased effort and I took note that I never felt like I was going to fall down the stairs, just that it took longer to get down.
I can't remember exactly what the headspace was like, just that it wasn't psychedelic and more dreamy. I continued watching music videos. I would have preferred to go sit outside but it was the middle of the night and my yard is unfortunately not very in-nature.
Twenty (??) minutes after sitting back down, I started noticing open-eye visuals. Reading other trip reports, this is uncommon, and happens only at higher doses. What I saw was a diamond-shaped, rapidly-changing floral kaleidoscope limited to the central fovea area of my vision. Interesting for sure, though not a defining feature of the trip.
The sedation and late hour were catching up to me so I headed to bed. The trip was not over.
