Hi, I have no idea what I'm doing and could use some help, pic related.
>Left
So a bunch of my cabbages got utterly decimated by slugs last year. Apparently they survived somehow and now after a rather short and mild winter are back, they look spindly and weird though and not at all like a nice dense ball of cabbage. Will they form a nice eatable cabbage ball eventually or has that ship sailed? Will they produce seeds that I can plant next year, since they seem to be forming flowers?

A bunch of my onions became ready to harvest way before their time, during an unreasonably hot summer last year. Now I have apparently forgotten some in the field (noticing kind of a trend) and they have come back last autumn and also seem to have survived this winter. When should I harvest them? When their leaves dry up this autumn or some other time?
>Right
I cut down my artichokes and covered them with leaves and branches to prepare them for the winter. I took a peak into their pile today and a little vapor cloud came out, I'm assuming from decomposition and the artichoke looks all rotted up (mfw my artichoke composts better than my compost). Does this mean it's dead or does it not mean anything and it will just produce new leaves later in the spring? When should i uncover it and how and when will I know if it survived (assuming it's not dead already)?
