>>2638836I would recommend a stove that has a heating coil for the fuel. That way you can use gas fuels even in balls freezing cold after getting the stove running in the first place (that can be achieved by keeping the fuel canister inside your jacket).
The heating coil then will warm up the fuel even if it flows as liquid from the gas canister. Pic related is an Optimus Vega, I personally don't own that model but my father inlaw does, and that stove has been very comfortable to cook with. That stove also has an inbuilt support for the canister on the valve that you can keep the can upside down in cold conditions.
I own a trangia and I have a gas burner for that storm cooker in addition to the traditional alcohol burner. It also has the heating coil system, but it would require you to get the complete trangia kit as well in order to cook food.
But if you know that you will not be using your stove in colder weather, then a normal on the cartridge canister stove with a 1 litre pot doesn't get expensive either, in Finland we regurarly have deals on Primus Essential Trail kit for 60€. That includes a stove and a decent feeling aluminium pot that also has a lid that doubles as a small pan. Those pan lids are perfect size for frying one egg.
>>2638716Oh, I didn't know about that. The non stick coating on my 1 litre pot is apparently ceramic and isn't supposed to contain PTFE. It wasn't necessarily the reason why I bought the pot, it just was the only pot available that was the correct size for my one person kit. If manage to find a decent pot that fits my kit, I may replace it. One of the reasons why I was looking at the titanium pots in the first place.
