Got mine in 2003 and I havent looked back. under $150. Superior quality stitching. Designed by ultralight nut job Ray Jardine. It weighs nothing and has lasted me tens of thousands of miles off and on trail.

but you'll probably get something heavy and basic and hike slow.

I've been using this pack since 2002. Go lite speed. One of the only ultralight packs that were mass produced. It was designed by the same guy who invented spring loaded cams. The designer fought the company hard to include improved stitching patterns for shoulder straps for the later ones. The rip stop nylon is carefully sourced for durability. Later, the designer of this pack left go-lite as the company stopped making ultralight packs and moved more towards light packs.

just under 2lbs. Its great for 20+ mile days, long trails, and adventure racing.

One of the few mass produced actual ultralight packs that does not come in kit form. weighs in at 2lbs. Great for adventure racing, long trails, and high mileage.

Designed by the same guy who invented spring loaded cams for rock climbing.

I do have an older kelty thats setup the same as that with the pockets in the same place. I got it used in 97 I think. I dont hike with it but I lend it to friends without packs. That pack will outlive you.
