Not /out/side. I mean to the local bar. Churches. General social settings. Become a fixture in a tight, but decently sized, community.
Emphasize scalability in your preps. Buy spare bullet presses. Books on weaving fishing nets. Save every seed you eat.
And turn everything into a regular use item. Slip the electrician a C note to run the overkill sized batteries for your solar garden pond to the house too. Maintain a little alder patch in the woods, and cure 15 years worth of arrows at a time. Start a variety of wheat and rye cultivars in the same field, so you end up with a locally hardy hybrid for special occasion dinner rolls. Keep dwarf goats for holiday roasts and baking kefir. Buy useful dog breeds, herders and terriers instead of ornaments or attack dogs. Don't alter them. Introduce barn cats, wean feeding to once a week.
Find a wife. Weave a Peruvian hammock. Make the most boring parts of your life more interesting than the most "ready" ammosexual.
And you'll find, one day, that living after the collapse is pretty much the same. You'll just spend the evening reading instead of shitposting on /out/.
