I have a feeling I may be about to be lambasted for overpaying, but it was a do or die decision. There were only two left, and these are already difficult to come by in the first place. Even if there was a premium, I'm happy to support my local nursery, and I wasn't going to miss the opportunity. Somebody already picked up every single last pecan tree they had for sale, which I had planned on getting in the first place. This just happened to be a happy accident.
I'm planning to keep it potbound for now since it is a real possibility I may become mobile in the next couple years, and I'd like to care for it best I can while I am.
