Don't come to Ireland.
I brought my scooter for travelling and camping across Ireland and it's impossible to camp here. 99+% of the land is privately owned and physically fenced off. Literally zero land you will pass by on the national roads that you can step onto.
There are three national parks that allow partial camping (in designated areas) (all the other national parks do not allow any camping because it kills plantlife). And if you're thinking of staying here with an kind of vehicle think again. You are required to leave your car in the parking lot where it WILL be robbed. There was broken glass everywhere when I got to the Wicklow national park so I said fuck em and took my bike with me like 200 metres and slept 8 hours and left. The next morning some smarmy cunt told me he was taking down my details for taking my scooter out of the parking lot.
When I found out how shit this country was I had two options: buy a tent and stay in public campsites (you will look weird if you hammock on a public campsite), or b&b's. I opted for b&b's because public campsites is not camping and I didn't want to buy some cumbersome overpriced shitty tent and it's almost as expensive as b&b's with an included free breakfast anyway.
