>>485235Pretty sure you can keep it from flowering by just keeping it in the dark for a few extra hours in the morning after the sun comes up or at night before it goes down. Most flowering mechanisms are caused by the length of the day, called photoperiodism. I don't know about kale specifically, but it sounds like it's a long-day plant that can pretty easily be tricked into not flowering.
