In any country around the world, the united states of fat people included, there are groups who think that way. They don't have much of a clue about their environment and in all honesty are probably just hippy faggots at heart.
There's a lot to be said for the leave no trace rules and protecting the environment but you have to be aware that the people you're talking about ill tar everyone with the same brush. They think that YOU personally are the one starting forest fires, leaving fire pits and rubbish all over the place, cutting down entire mature birch trees to get tinder, keeping them awake at night with your bushcraft slide whistles and driving up the price of those awful leather hats they all like to wear. You need to think of them in the same terms as the fatties across the pond think of "soccer moms".
